NATO International Day

26 10 2008

Recently NATO Izmir held an International Day on the garrison.  Countries represented here hosted booths to share foods and customs from their countries.  The US hosted a Hollywood theme booth and cooked foods like Steak and Wings to share with the other countries.  Spain had some awesome Paella and Sangria.  UK had scones and Pims.  Germans had beer, German potato salad, and brats.  Greece had some weird food.  Turkey had kebaps and Raki.  The best was probably the German food…and of course the beer!!!  Music from UK was best though.  The Banned played all sorts of music and even through in some English folk music for the dancers.  Well, here’s some pictures of International Day.

New Blog!

26 10 2008

Well, it appears that Blogger (our old tlandshell.blogspot.com host) is no longer accessible from Turkey.  Don’t worry, neither is YouTube.  Short story but probably not worth telling.  Anyway, those of you in the good ole’ USA can probably still access it at http://tlandshell.blogspot.com so I won’t bother trying to move everything over to this site.  Instead, I’ll just press on.  I’m not able to add video clips, and I’ve got at least two to share so I will try to find a way to include those later.
